Fr. Bill’s Farewell Cookout Next Sunday

Fr. Bill’s final Sunday Mass as pastor of St. Charles Borromeo will be on June 25. Please join us following the 11:15 AM Mass for a gathering outside the church on Aitken Place to celebrate Fr. Bill’s six years with us and to express our gratitude for everything he has done to transform our parish. We will have a cookout with burgers and more as well as activities for children.

Summer Faith Sharing

Our Sunday faith sharing is back for the summer. We join together to pray, reflect on the Sunday readings, and discuss our faith. It is a low-key gathering and there’s no need to read in advance or join every week.

We meet each Sunday at 5 PM on the parish Zoom channel starting on July 9. All are welcome, especially first-time participants.

Thursday Book Group: Mere Christianity

The next selection of the Brownstone Brooklyn & Beyond book group will be Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. The book is adapted from a series of radio talks that C.S. Lewis gave during World War 2. This popular introduction to Christianity covers Lewis’ argument for the existence of God and the case for the Christian faith.

The first discussion session will be on Thursday, July 13 at 7 PM via Zoom. At that session, we will discuss the beginning through Book 1. The Brownstone Brooklyn and Beyond book group meets weekly on Thursdays at 7 PM via Zoom. It is comprised of parishioners from various churches in the Brooklyn Heights/Park Slope area.
