Bishop DiMarizio has re-assigned Fr. Slawomir Sobiech to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish in Ridgewood, Queens. We are grateful for his dedication and service to our parish community. Thanks and God’s blessing on Father Slawomir as he undertakes his new assignment on June 30!

In his place, Bishop DiMarzio has assigned Fr. Joseph Gaspar Hugo as Parochial Vicar to both cooperating Parishes of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Charles Borromeo. Father comes to us from St. Patrick Church in Bay Ridge, and before that was at Immaculate Conception Parish in Long Island City. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Theology at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. While in his Diocese in the Philippines, he served as the Diocesan Youth Director. Father came to the United States in 2004. Welcome to Fr. Joseph Hugo!
