Early Voting in NY Has Begun

As Fr. Bill mentioned at the end of Sunday Mass, the Church does not direct Catholics to vote for particular candidates. Instead, we are invited to weigh all of the issues:

It falls to faith-filled Catholics in their own conscience to bring Catholic social teaching in its entirety to bear on their voting choices, to ask deeply and without partisanship or self-interest what opportunities to advance the common good are available in 2020, and which candidate will best advance the common good through her actions.

Novena to St. Charles Borromeo

This Tuesday, October 27, we will begin a Novena to St. Charles Borromeo. The novena will be prayed daily at 5 PM via Zoom for nine days and will end on Wednesday, November 4, his memorial day. On the nights when we say the rosary or have evening prayer at 5 PM, the novena will immediately follow.

We will use the same novena prayer guide that was handed out last year and is available on our website, Saint Charles Borromeo Novena.

Abigail Meury – Funeral Announcement

Dear St. Charles Parish Family and Friends,

I regret to inform you of the death of Abigail Meury, a devoted parishioner and an active participant in our Sunday book club. She passed Wednesday.

There will be a wake at the Church (19 Sidney Place) in the narthex, beginning at 9:30 AM on Friday, October 30, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM, which can be remotely viewed below.

We extend our condolences to her family and friends.
May she rest in peace.

Community Mass – 30th Sunday Ordinary Time

  • 9 AM EDT public Morning Mass celebrated at the Church (not streamed)
  • 11:15 AM EDT Community Mass at celebrated at the Church and also streamed online. Instructions to view the Mass are available here. You can also watch the video via YouTube Live in the window below.
  • Today’s readings and hymns are available to download here: October 25 . Hymnals, bulletins, and other handouts will not be available at the church. Please download on your phone or tablet, or bring your own missal.
  • Please follow the instructions of the ushers, and observe all of the health precautions so that we can continue to worship together safely.

The Jewish people knew themselves to be a people of the covenant. A covenant is more than a recognition that a relationship exists, but one so important that the terms must be clearly defined and accepted. It is more than a contract for goods and services, but a sharing of flesh and blood. A covenant includes a sacrifice in which the contracting parties share a meal as a sign of this union. All Souls Remembrance and Mass on 11/2

On All Souls Day, we remember our deceased loved ones. A public Mass will be said at the church on Monday, November 2 at 12:10 PM, which will begin a novena that the priests of St. Charles Borromeo will offer for the departed.

We invite you to inscribe the names of those you wish for us to remember and pray for on the All Souls Remembrance envelopes found in the back of the Church.
