The American ensemble Asteria (Sylvia Rhyne, soprano, and Eric Redlinger, lute and tenor) are known for their intimate and sumptuous performance style, and the emotional immediacy of their interpretations of late medieval and renaissance vocal and instrumental music. Today we honor our church’s patron saint, St. Charles Borromeo, known for his charity and making sure that relief efforts were administered effectively. Please pray that he will intercede to help all those suffering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy.

A second collection will be taken up today for Catholic Charities for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

This Sunday, Aug. 19, our parish will be having a 7 pm Mass for students of the coming school year. Feel free to invite a classmate, roommate, or neighbor to get a blessed start to the year.
