On Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 4:30 PM, please join us for a concert featuring the choir from St. Paul’s School for Girls in London, England. The choir is comprised of girls between the ages of 13 and 17. The conert will feature a variety of music for treble chorus and instruments. This will be their first concert on their tour of the East Coast. St Paul’s has had several distinguished directors of music, most notably Gustav Holst (1905–34) and Herbert Howells (1936–62).

Theology on Tap
The Catholic Fellowship (www.cfnetwork.org) and the Diocese of Brooklyn invite you to join them for the kickoff of Theology on Tap, Thursday October 21st from 7:30pm-9:30pm, at the Cathedral of Basilica of St .James in downtown Brooklyn. This event’s title is “Who is Jesus? Does it Make a Difference?”, with guest speaker Paul Tonna, Molloy College’s Executive Director for The Energeia Partnership. Food and drinks will be served.

3rd Annual Fall Concert
Celebrating the 130th Anniversary of the St Charles Odell Organ
On Saturday, November 6, at 7:00 PM St. Charles Borromeo will host our 3rd Annual Fall Concert. This year we will celebrate the 130th Anniversary of our Odell Pipe Organ, which was installed at St. Charles in 1880. Organist Jonathan Hall will present an informative and enjoyable recital on the church’s historic Odell pipe organ. A respected performer and writer about the organ, Jonathan will present spoken program notes that will highlight the instrument in a special way. Please join us and invite your family and friends for what will surely be a delightful musical evening.
Tickets for the concert are $20 if purchased in advance, and $25 at the door. Friend ($50) and Patron ($100) tickets are also available. Friend and Patron ticket purchasers will be mentioned in the Concert Program. Included in today’s bulletin is an envelope that can be used to purchase tickets. No tickets will be issued, names will be held at the door. Friends and family interested in purchasing tickets may send their request, together with payment, to the rectory.
A reception will follow the concert program.
A Call for Donations for the Organ Concert Reception
We will host a reception following the November 6 Odell Pipe Organ Concert and are looking for parishioners willing to donate finger foods. If you are able to provide a donation for the reception, please sign-up on the sheets in the rear of the church.
