Mardi Gras Pancake Breakfast

We will celebrate Mardi Gras tomorrow, Sunday March 2. All are invited for pancakes and music. In the spirit of Mardi Gras, let’s empty our larders and have a big blowout before we enter into the mysteries of the Passion, Suffering and Death of our Lord, Jesus Christ; keeping our sights set on the promise of eternal life in the Joy of Easter.

Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday started when Pope St. Gregory prohibited Christians from eating all meat and animal products during the time of Lent around A.D. 600. So Christians made pancakes to use up their eggs, milk, and butter.

WHEN: Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 10 AM and 12:15 PM (directly following the 9 AM and 11:15 AM Masses).

WHERE: The Parish Center in the Rectory at 31 Sidney Place.

WHAT: Join us for a breakfast of pancakes, fruit, coffee, and juice boxes.

We are also holding a silent auction of some lovely old icons (statues, crucifixes) unearthed from the back of the church and looking to grace your home and help direct your prayers. Proceeds will benefit our parish’s ministries.

WHO: All are invited. Bring the kids!

JOIN IN WITH OUR CATHOLIC FAMILY GROUP TO VOLUNTEER: Our Catholic Family group has graciously offered to facilitate the breakfast and asks anyone interested in volunteering to contact Danielle Kushner (danibarrk@gmail.com), Alexandra Gupta (Alexandra.Gupta@corcoran.com), or the rectory.
